At 7:30 pm on Saturday, Aug. 21,
the Noble Fowl Trio (Claire Happel, Jeremy Harting, James Moore) will present a concert of new and classic works for harp, mandolin and guitar/banjo. The music on the program will range from beautifully sparse to unconventionally melodic, with elements of folk, experimental and minimalist music, and will include the works of Hans Werner Henze, the world premiere of a piece by local Chicago composer Nomi Epstein, and the works of New York composer Lainie Fefferman. It also will feature a special workshop performance of a little-known collaborative composition by John Cage, Firgil Thomson, Henry Cowell and Lou Harrison. For more information www.noblefowl.com.
