Art Education

After school activities engage students in a range of activities that include visual, literary and multi-media arts. Our programs engage youth with Master Artists as mentors. Young people gain practice in thinking and solving problems in a creative environment. As an example, the Creative Writing Workshops directed by David Hernandez, of Street Sounds Media Group, develop creative writing and performance poetry skills in a fun practice for preteens. Youth engage in the business side of art, write a press release, plan a public event. Our goal is to provide sequential workshops for youth. Developed skills include critical thinking, planning, and language in a group context that encourages cooperation, social enterprise and builds futures. Young people who work in the arts strive for excellence and challenge themselves to create. Arts activities integrate each individual contribution into a larger whole. .
