Mission + Purpose + Values
NNWAC is a not-profit arts organization where artists work in collaboration to design, manage and protect space for creative work that is affordable, energy efficient, durable and sustainable.   Our projects are rooted in local community.
Culture is a process not a product.
NNWAC was founded by artists, teachers, and social activists. The purpose continues to resonate after three decades to share the power of creativity; building a network of resources that supports a vibrant arts environment, in a neighborhood context.
Why do we need culture? And what does culture do for community?
It adds value, attracts investment, engages students more deeply,
builds and sustains social groups.
All human intelligence including scientific and political knowledge is derived from artistic creativity. Everyone needs to be creative.

NNWAC is committed to building a creative work community that is inclusive and represents a vibrant diversity of background, experience, perspective and thought.
Artists and creatives, across all markers of identity: age, race, gender, ability, communication styles, are highly encouraged to become members.
